“Harvey Barsanti Place” Dedication & Scholarship Announcement”

When you hear the name Harvey Barsanti, you know it is synonymous with St. Mary’s College (SMC). No one has walked the halls of SMC more than Harvey B or Mr. B or Coach or SMC Man as he could be called. Harvey is our most senior and respected “ALUMNI”.
Harvey’s story began in 1956 when he was student in that very first class. He was the first athlete of the year and was a member of the first student’s council. Graduating in 1961 and after university his career spanned 33 years as a Teacher, Vice-Principal, and Principal. In retirement Harvey has continued to be involved as a founding member of the SMC Alumni Association in 2005 to this very day.
“Through his spirit and dedication to teaching the fundamental values of family and faith instilled upon him by the Basilian fathers, he has positively touched the lives of many young men and woman.”
This coming June 3, at the new St. Mary’s College Harvey will be honoured with a dedication to name the main lobby “Harvey Barsanti Place”. An honour well deserved! In addition, the SMC Alumni Association is introducing the “Harvey Barsanti Scholarship” which will be given annually to a deserving student who has demonstrated true school spirit, dedication and commitment to their school and fellow classmates.
